Our Commitment

Aire Journal is built on a simple principle: your journal is yours alone. We designed Aire so that your most personal thoughts stay on your Apple device. We do not operate servers that read, store, or analyze your journal entries. We do not sell your data. We do not use your writing to train AI models.

The App Store privacy label for Aire reflects this design: Data Not Collected from your everyday use of the app.

What Stays on Your Device

The following never leave your Mac unless you explicitly choose to export or share them:

• Journal entries and edits
• Photos, videos, and attachments you add to entries
• AI-generated replies and on-device search results
• Retrospect mood summaries
• Encryption keys, passphrases, and recovery answers (stored locally if you enable encryption)
• On-device AI models downloaded for local inference

AI processing runs entirely on your Mac. Your entries are not transmitted to Aire Studio, any cloud provider, or any third-party AI service for the purpose of generating responses or search results.

What We Do Not Collect

During normal use of Aire Journal, we do not collect:

• Journal content or metadata about what you write
• Account information (no account is required)
• Usage analytics tied to your identity
• Location data
• Advertising identifiers
• Contacts, browsing history, or data from other apps

We have no technical access to your journal. We cannot read your entries, even if we wanted to. There is no cloud backup operated by Aire Studio.

Information You Choose to Share With Us

The only time we receive information from you is when you voluntarily contact us — for example, by email at aire.support@airestudio.xyz or through the in-app Help & Support links, which open a pre-filled email template on your Mac.

When you reach out, you may choose to provide:

• Your name and email address (so we can reply)
• A description of a bug, question, or issue
• Screenshots or other files you attach to help us understand the problem
• General device information you include in your message (such as macOS version), if you choose to share it

We use this information solely to respond to your request, diagnose issues, and improve the app. We do not use support correspondence to access or infer the contents of your private journal.

App Store Purchases

If you purchase Aire Pro, payment is processed by Apple through the Mac App Store. We do not receive your payment card details. Apple may collect transaction information according to its own privacy policy.

Data Retention

Support emails and bug reports you send us may be retained for a reasonable period so we can resolve your issue and improve the product. You may ask us to delete correspondence you have sent us by contacting aire.support@airestudio.xyz.

Journal data retention is entirely under your control on your device. Deleting the app or using export/delete features within Aire removes data from your Mac according to your actions.

Security

Aire offers optional AES-256 encryption with a passphrase and personal recovery questions, along with auto-lock and Lock Now. Because your data is stored locally, protecting your Mac (including system passcode, FileVault, and physical access) is an important part of keeping your journal private.

Children's Privacy

Aire Journal is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here on airestudio.xyz.
