How Can We Help?

Answers to common questions about Aire Journal, and how to reach us by email or from inside the app.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Your journal entries and AI replies are generated and stored entirely on your Mac. Nothing is sent to our servers or any cloud AI service. The AI models run locally on your device after you download them once.
No. Aire requires no account, no sign-up, and no cloud sync. Your journal exists only on the Mac where you use it.
Aire is free to start and includes core journaling. Aire Pro is a one-time purchase (no subscription) that unlocks the on-device AI companion, natural-language search, Retrospect mood calendar, the media library, and import/export. You can try all Pro features free for 3 days.
A Mac with Apple Silicon is recommended for on-device AI. Basic journaling works on any supported Mac. On-device models are downloaded once and run locally — nothing is streamed from the cloud.
You can optionally enable AES-256 encryption with a passphrase and personal recovery questions. Auto-lock and Lock Now help keep your entries private when you step away from your Mac.
Yes, with Aire Pro. Export any single day or your entire journal as PDF, RTF, or plain text. Import existing journals from PDF, RTF, or TXT files.
Aire is available in 11 languages, and the on-device AI replies in the language you write in.
Retrospect is a mood calendar that quietly summarizes each day as sunny, cloudy, or rainy — a gentle way to look back at patterns in your journal over time. It is included with Aire Pro.
We do not collect your journal entries or have access to what you write. We collect nothing by default. The only exception is when you choose to contact us — for example via email or the in-app Report a Bug / Suggest an Improvement links — and voluntarily provide a description and any screenshots. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Use Help & Support inside Aire

The easiest way to reach us — and the best way to avoid mistakes — is through the app itself. Open Setup → Help & Support, then choose Report a Bug or Suggest an Improvement. Aire opens Mail with a pre-filled template and automatically includes your app version, macOS version, chip, memory, and AI model. Nothing from your journal is included.

Or email us directly

If you write to us from your own email client, please include enough detail for us to help — especially your system information. Wrong or missing hardware details make bugs much harder to diagnose.

Please include:

  • Aire app version (e.g. 0.1.1 (5))
  • macOS version and build number
  • Mac model and chip (e.g. Apple M4 Max)
  • Installed memory (RAM)
  • On-device AI model name, if you're using AI features
  • Steps to reproduce, expected behavior, and what actually happened
  • Screenshots, if they help show the issue

The sample below shows the format our in-app links use. If you compose email manually, replace every line in the system-info block with your own Mac's details — do not copy the example hardware as-is.
